April

April has been a good month at Moor Farm

DSC04551 Pearl

Pearl has had her first outing with her new rider Mike Jackson. We went to Hunters were she did two event tests. She was very well behaved and is now ready to go with Mike to their first event together.

Anand’s lovely horse DD has had a couple of outings one to West Wilts where he won with 72% and other to Hunters where he did the CIC * test Georgina was thrilled with him. We will be very sad to see him go home later this month.

Xavier also went to Hunters with Danni he was a bit bossy in the test, but when you are a Leighland I don’t think you can help yourself!

DSC04479 Georgina & Danni

Georgina and Danni had a bit of fun with Xavier and Prophet and took them to a hunter trial and did the pairs

Prophet and Derry had a good evening out at Burrows Court coming 4th and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd

I had an interesting trip to Withington horse trials with Hector Baker where he had been invited to do the pony trial. After a good dressage and a clear SJ he sadly had a glance off at the corner coming out of the water. What a shame after such a good effort from pony and rider.

George had a fantastic trip to South Africa and won several medals including best under 19 so thank you again to all that supported him

March

March brought us some dry weather thank goodness as we have been having all our ditches dug out and hundreds of tons of earth moved around the farm. With all the rain it was beginning to look like a scene from war horse!!! Leighland Xavier went to Howick to do the BE100 with Danni and apart from having the last fence down was on very good form.

Danni has already had a few excellent results this season in an OI under 21 a CIC** and a novice, so Xavier will have to stay on form to keep up! Prophet, Pearl and Destiny had a nice trip out XC schooling at Howick after the event. I think Pearl felt short changed by the day but it was nice to see her out and about.

The March rallies have been very well supported the next one is Saturday 6th April which is jumping. Sorry to everyone waiting to send their horses for schooling it seems to be one thing after another! snow and rain seem to have dominated the winter putting people off taking their horses home. Bring on spring George is having a fantastic time in South Africa he has had a week of fun, but now the competition has started. He said the air is very thin where he is so the shooting is very different and tacking a bit of getting used to.
