Archives for February 2014

Well another wet month has past – hindering everything we do but we did manage a few outings.

All the horses behaved well at Rockhampton dressage. George won the walk trot with Hilldown Harley, she was thrilled as it was his first time away from home. Flynn won the second class and Sid the third class.

We have been SJ schooling at Summerhouse where Melody, Destiny and Flynn all showed off their winter schooling.

Sid and Flynn had a BD dressage trip to Summerhouse on a day when the weather was evil and the judge 45 mins late. I nearly had to judge but just as I got into the box she turned up. Despite that the boys did well with both of them picking up rosettes.

Leighland Pearl had her first outing out with Mike in the pouring rain to show jumping and just about behaved.

Hilldown Hocus has been to Mike’s for a few days hunting and a trip away from home. He has proved to be a good hunter behaving and jumping extremely well for Mike. He will be back home on Thursday after show jumping at Rectory Farm .

The rallies are still going strong we have a jumping one on the 8th February and a flat one on the 15th. Please text email or ring if you are interested.

We have Leighland Portia in for jump schooling at the moment, so I am hoping to have a nice photo for the web site of Portia with her 4 children; Pascal, Pearl, Xavier and Melody, together with┬áher brother Toledo. It’s the first time they have all been in the same place, at the same time.

Still waiting to get the new surface on the arena let’s hope for less rain in Feb!!
