Archives for December 2015

The rallies have been proving popular, even in the worst of weather.  Themes of the rallies included grids, skinny fences, turning lines and shortening the canter for the jump rallies and in the flat rallies, focus was on leg to hand connection and keeping balance when changing the length of stride and collection.  Big pats to all those who have been coming along.

The next rally is our Christmas one and will take place on Saturday 19 December.  The format is slightly different for this one as although it will still consist of groups of four, there will be a 30-minute warm up prior to the dressage competition.  The choice of tests this year are Walk Trot A, Prelim 18 and Novice 28.  Fancy dress is not obligatory (tinsel perhaps) but it’s always fun to see what or who turns up!  There will also be plenty of port, mulled wine and mince pies. Everyone is welcome even if you just want to spectate.

In between all the above, Robin and I jetted off to Lanzarote to stay with my close friend Linda.  I met Linda 30-years ago when she brought her horse back from Bahrain to keep with me prior to his being sold. Adam and Matt joined us as well and with temperatures  reaching 25 celsius everyday, it was certainly  a welcome break with good friends and good food.

Date for 2016….

We’ve now got a poster publicising the Eventing Residential Intensive Course (PDF format,  that I will be running with Adam and Matt.  Please contact AM Dressage
