June

xc leyland court June 16June began with a cross country clinic at Leyland Court Farm, with first timers Sweet Pea and Daisy doing extremely well.

On the eventing front, Pearl made the long trip to Little Downham in Norfolk and jumped a fast double clear in the Open Intermediate.  This run was followed by a very successful outing at Nunney Horse Trials as Pearl came 4th in the Open Intermediate on an impressive score of 28 and Prophet was 7th in CIC**.  Hector and Xavier finished 18th in the intermediate which now gives him his CIC** qualification.

On a sad note, a very popular horse at Moor Farm, Lucky Jubilee, was put down.  Lucky’s enthusiasm for life made her a favourite in the yard and began life being competed Hayley Dietrich to BE novice before being bought by Janet.    Janet competed her in all disciplines and was the dressage champion at the Almondsbury Show only a couple of years’ ago.

There was some staff news this month in that Laura, who has been a working pupil for the last 12 months on her gap year, passed her PTT and NVQ level 3.  Congratulations to Laura and we wish her every success studying engineering at University.  Another former employee, the muck heap king and chief strimmer, Ben Sellick passed his finals and is now a fully qualified vet.

There will also be a dressage test riding clinic ‘No stressage‘ at Burrows Court Farm on 21 July 2016.
