Summer 2018

Now that it’s past the official start of autumn, time to reflect on the summer of 2018 which have included Xavier and Hector successfully competing at 3-star level and the summer clinics run at Moor Farm over the past four months.

Xavier Blair_optCompetition news

Xavier and Hector have had a brilliant season which, after successful CIC3* runs at Chatsworth and Bramham, culminated in their first CCI3* at Blair Horse Trials a couple of weeks’ ago.  Despite the very long journey, the trip proved to be a successful one with them finishing 14th and Hector winning the best placed rider under 25 prize.

The focus now turns to Pearl and Melody who will resume their competitions during the last couple of months of the eventing season so still a lot to look forward to.

Summer Clinics

Clinic Adam_optThe summer one-day eventing and green horse confidence days proved very successful.  For the eventers courses, these were a combination of a dressage lesson with either Adam Kemp or Matt Frost as well as a poles/jump lesson with Trudi.   In addition, participants not had a lovely lunch but a lecture was also given by Adam or Matt.

The Green Horse Confidence Day also went well with Rachel Sheldon and Trudi providing guidance and help to those who needed to be build up their confidence.  All those who attended found the clinics challenging, informative and very sociable!

Other news

Almondsbury 2018_optSomewhere in the mix of the above Almondsbury Show took place, which this year included the introduction of a fancy dress class in the showing competition.  I’m not sure who was more surprised by the outfits, the spectators or the horse watching the Rapunzel’s tower being hoisted into position with Rapunzel inside!  The standard has most certainly been set for next year.

There was also the Oldbury on Severn ball which was Great Gatsby themed and proved to be a fun night in the village.
